1957 Harmony Roy Smeck H56 Hollowbody

Product Description

These Roy Smeck Harmonys are becoming super rare. Made in 1957 in the USA, this H56 is in excellent condition and plays and sounds fantastic. It's got a really comfortable and easy to play neck. It's not just collectable, it's a pleasure to play.

When it arrived to us it had a neck crack that was repaired well, but rather crudely. It also had a ski jump for a neck so we got to work and fixed the crack properly, touched up the repair so it's invisible, re-radiused the neck and refretted it - well over $1000 worth of work and repairs. It is now fully set-up and ready to go for another 60+ years.

The guitar has some beautiful checking and the original midnight blue finish is so cool and looks almost black from a distance, and in certain light.

The original P-13 pickup was made by Gibson in the 1950's and is becoming a very rare and sort after pickup in it's own right. The tonal quality is similar to an early Gibson P90, but with a darker tone and richer mid-range - a real old school blues jazz sound. You know the one!

The birch body of this guitar resonates quite loudly, almost at acoustic guitar levels.

Its a beautiful thing and deserves a good home (potentially mine)! I've not found another one that is for sale right now.
