Gibson Hand Signed Chet Atkins Pickguard

Product Description

Ok all you Gibson / Chet Atkins fans. check this out.

I have one of 7 bound tortoise pickguards hand signed by Chet Atkins himself for the Gibson Custom Shop Super 4000 guitar. These pickguards and other gibson parts (which I will list soon) were purchased at a container auction in Nashville. The container was owned by non other than Rick Gembar, who took the helm as Gibson Custom Shop General Manager in 1993.

The Chet Atkins Super 4000 was the last guitar Chet designed for Gibson before his passing in 2001. The guitars are as rare as hens teeth, apparently only 20-25 were ever made. And all had hand signed pickguards in gold and silver pens. These pickguards were obviously leftovers or extras that good 'ol Rick squirrelled away.

While its tempting to put this on a guitar, it really should be framed and hung on a wall in a museum.

***These gibson parts were purchased at a container auction in Nashville. The container was owned by non other than Rick Gembar, who took the helm as Gibson Custom Shop General Manager in 1993***

Please Note: The guitar is NOT FOR SALE, its just an example photo of a signed pickguard on a Gibson Chet Atkins Super 4000.
